Packing Fragile Kitchen Items Without Wasting Boxes
A sensible way to pack dishes, glassware, small appliances and pantry goods for a local move.
Kitchens produce many small, heavy boxes. Use compact cartons for dishes and pantry items so each box remains manageable. Large boxes are better for light cookware, plastic containers and towels.
Wrap plates individually and stand them on edge, like records. Fill empty spaces so they cannot lean or shift. Cups and bowls need paper between pieces, while stemware should be wrapped by the bowl and stem without pressure on the glass.
Remove loose trays, wash removable parts and let everything dry. Bundle each appliance cord without wrapping it tightly around the unit. Put attachments in a labeled bag inside the same carton.
Set aside mugs, a few plates, utensils, paper towels, dish soap and a basic pan. Mark that carton to be opened first. If the kitchen feels like the hardest room, our packing and unpacking service can handle all of it or just the fragile sections.
